Since the Slate mining boom of the1800’s Blaenau Ffestiniog has enjoyed a rich heritage of creativity from its choirs, to brass bands, blind harpists to present day reggae bands. It’s basically a ‘boom’ of creativity. It would be almost impossible to list everything here, but here goes!

The Camera Club has been in existence since 1961 and meets on a Wednesday evening at The Ganolfan, Blaenau Ffestiniog, 7.30 to 9pm, September to April.

David Nash
Blaenau Ffestiniog based sculptor.David Nash is one of the UK’s pre-eminent contemporary artists.

Gareth Parry
His paintings are strongly influenced by the slate industry,Ffestiniog landscape and the quarrymen of of the area.

Maria Hayes
Maria’s work is 2 dimensional, using a variety of media including painting, printmaking, drawing and mixed media. She finds inspiration in the landscape of North Wales and in the human form.
