The Bro Ffestiniog History Society was formed in 1981 by a number of friends who had a keen interest in the history of the area. Their interest in the history was such that they decided to produce an annual magazine that would provide all sorts of stories on the area’s history; the magazine is called Rhamant Bro. The society and the Rhamant Bro magazine has managed to entertain and educate numerous people over the year. On reaching the 25 anniversary milestone an exhibition was held in the town, including interesting images and artefacts, it was a huge success and as a result an annual exhibition is held in Tŷ Mawddach on High Street.
There’s a treasure trove of stories and information to share about the areas past and the History Society exhibition is a great place to learn about this rich history .The exhibition is managed and run by volunteers and has an array of artefacts, stories and pictures. It runs from May to September every year in the town centre. Call in on your journey, it’s free of charge and you won’t be disappointed.
